Old Friends, New Friends

Finally- the weather has been absolutely beautiful and staying for longer than a day or two.  This weekend (especially Saturday) was no exception and just absolutely beautiful and so much fun.  Good friends from high school were in town with their little ones so we all got together for some running around Duke Gardens.  The kids all had a great time and definitely burnt some energy.  After that we went over to family for a great Easter egg hunt and more running around for the kids.  I don't think I have ever seen our little ones SO tired, especially Reed who ended up sleeping until after 7 this morning.  It was nice for us all.  We had such a great time and are looking forward to another wonderful weekend ahead.

Spring is here!

Or so they say.  As this season has been consistent with we had some nice weather and are now expecting even some potential snow this week.  I can't keep up with it!  This Saturday was great though- it was such a beautiful day and the temperatures were just right!  We spent a lot of time outside and it felt good!  We started with a morning walk on a trail at Umstead National Park, went to lunch at Lynnwood Grill and sat on the rooftop, and finished the day with a stop at a park.  So here are pictures from such a beautiful day- here's to hoping more are on the way!

It's hot and it's cold

The weather this winter here in NC has been unpredictable to say the least.  From what we hear this has been rather unusual and it has definitely kept us on our toes.  We have very easily found ourselves in scarves, jackets and gloves one day and then in flip flops later that same week.  While I am still extremely happy for our move here, I am ready for spring- and for it to stay nice for a while.  During some of these warm bursts we have definitely taken advantage of being outside and also just some time hanging out together in the house.  Spring officially begins this week, so I am hoping that I will be able to bring out my camera a lot more for some great outdoor activities and just all around comfort :)  I have fallen a little behind posting some of the warmer weekend pictures so here you go!
