Lily and Malia

I was so excited when Elaine contacted me for some family pictures.  I have known her and her brother and sister for many years now (I won't age myself but it goes back to at least high school) but hadn't seen them in a while.  It was great getting to see her again and now be able to meet her own family.  I had such a great time with them, her daughters have so much energy and were so easy to photograph...I laughed a lot!  They were easy reminders of how much I love doing this job.

Here are some pictures from our fun day- Elaine, thanks again for letting me capture this family moment.  Enjoy!

Park day!

This past Sunday we took the kids to the park to burn off some some of the pent up energy from the drive to and from NC.  Well I guess you could say mainly for Camdyn, as Reed doesn't really run around yet :)  The weather was PERFECT, especially for taking pictures, and of course that means I did just that!  Camdyn had a blast and as you will see, even Reed had a good time and threw out some good laughs and smiles :)  Enjoy!

Getting ready to make a big move

Wheeee!

Such a happy boy he is!

Laughing at his sister

Slightly serious look, possibly posing for the ladies

Going slightly faster than I thought I would

Love to swing

So much fun!!!

I am a big deal too

Family Vacation...Part 2

While up in the mountains area we went and spent the day with my husband's grandmother, aunt, and cousin who also live nearby.  Camdyn has a second cousin that isn't too far in age from her and they got to spend time together and play. They had a great time and we had a great visit with the family!  One of the things I love the most about photography and the type that I do is the innocence of the kids.  It is the sweetest thing to see and to be able to capture such things is truly a blessing.

Going to go explore great-grandmas place

Just too sweet and innocent

Our little one exploring on her own

All that exploring- we need to take a break

So what do you want to go do next?

One of the last things that we did before we headed home was go to the NC Arboretum.  Wow, just so beautiful!  Camdyn loved looking at all of the flowers and was having a blast just running around, so much she was definitely in no mood to sit still for practically ANY pictures and Reed wanted to be carried in the Ergo so photographing was a slight challenge all in all but I think I managed to get some to share.
Just lovely

She had a blast running around this area full of flowers :)

Gorgeous bonsai

Wow!

With grandpa (or as she says Pop-pa)

This was the door from a restaurant we ate at in Asheville Village, I thought it was neat looking and plan on putting it up somewhere in the house.
Again we had a wonderful time away and with family.  Thanks to everyone who made this trip special.  Looking forward to it again.

Family Vacation....Part 1

This past week, we decided to take a final family vacation before going back to work again.  My family has a place up in the mountains of NC and we haven't had a chance to go with Reed's pregnancy so this was the perfect time.  We went up for a week and it had such a great time!  It was well needed and great to just relax with family- and the kids had a blast as well. So needless to say, I took my share of pictures and this could be quite a long blog entry :)  Enjoy!

On our first full day we attempted to go to the Apple Festival.  The rain had some other plans for us but we were able to go for some time  There was a small kids area that Camdyn decided she wanted to take part in but really only one ride, in which my mom excitedly offered to ride with her.

Hmmm...I signed up for this??

Ok, that wasn't too bad, I may consider it again.

The trees all around the house are full of acorns that constantly fall on the deck. Camdyn hadn't ever seen them before and thought they were a great new toy.  She spent a lot of time on the deck laughing hysterically as she threw them into the "woods."
Acorns!!! Or as Camdyn calls them corns.

Throwing them overboard...you can see the acorn flying in the air.

Ohh a leaf this time

What?!  There better be more

Camdyn LOVES to help you, no matter what it is you are doing. It is great to see her try it all. One night while mom was making dinner Camdyn decided she wanted to help. So as all great grandma's would do, she got set up with her own little cooking station.  She took her job so seriously I had to capture it!
Ok time to start dinner!

Just need to put in a little seasoning.

Just a little more

Mix it all together

All done, just needs to cook now!
While we were gone, my husband and I got to go out for a date night sans kids.  We went to the Grove Park Inn located in Asheville.  Wow!  Talk about a view!!  It was absolutely incredible.  We ate at the Sunset Terrace in which our table was right on the edge outside and our view was gorgeous mountains.  It was just amazing and the food wasn't too bad either :)

Just perfect

The husband looking over the wine list- they had quite a selection

Just another view from the table looking out.
Stay tuned for part two of our trip coming up! :)
