Happy First Day of Fall

Another truly gorgeous and magnificent day for the first day of fall, though it started off full of rain and clouds.  The temperature was perfect - it is really one of my favorite times of the year, especially here in North Carolina.  We took advantage of it with the kids wanting to go and play on the playset in the backyard- they love having it and the yard to run all over and let me tell you they do!  I didn't take too many pictures of them out today but took most of the time to run around with them and be a kid :)

Welcome Home!

Words do no justice for my feelings of having my family now in NC.  It is truly beyond wonderful!  We are about 90% settled into our place and were able to have our first real time out in the back yard to play; might I add that today was also a beautiful weather day.  Just perfect.  The kids had a blast on the playground and running all over the backyard and fortunately I was able to capture some great shots today.  What a great day- Enjoy!

Pullen Park

A group of us decided to go spend a couple hours at Pullen Park.  This place used to be my favorite park back when I first lived here and I didn't have kids.  I see it now in a whole new view, even though the park has gone through some changes in itself, I think I can still rank it as a top park.  I am excited to bring the kids here (who arrive tomorrow by the way!) as I think they will enjoy it but it has definitely become a much more crowded place than it ever used to be.

So while my friends with kids did some of the rides, I decided to walk around and see all that was there and continue  to try and work on broadening my horizons with photography .  Here are some shots from my roaming around.  I hope that everyone is having a safe holiday-  Enjoy!

Mr. X

Xavier is someone you will start to see a lot of.  He is the son of two of my dear friends, Sara and Anthony (the same Anthony from my Duke Gardens post), and an absolute doll.  I can't wait for him to meet my two little ones (then get ready to see those three a lot)!  Last night I decided to bust out the camera for a few shots of him in action with one of his new favorite toys- the apple on the jumper.  Stay tuned as this is just the first of many pictures of this little guy.

Duke Gardens

Yesterday, my friend (and fellow photographer) Anthony and I decided to go and check out Duke Gardens.   It has been a really long time since I last went there and I don't think that I ever really took the time to walk around it and enjoy it.  Talk about a place of beauty!  I know that I don't usually do a lot of nature or landscaping pictures, but its fun to try and branch out a little and expand some skills.   

We had a great time taking pictures and it is always great to go out and explore with other photographers.  So here are a few pictures from our walk.
